ORAL HISTORIES

Historic Saranac Lake maintains an ongoing Oral History program to record the stories of daily life, special events, and the people that make Saranac Lake. We are always looking to add to the collection, and welcome new volunteer interviewers!

We are working to migrate the Oral Histories to our new collections database on CatalogIt. Most oral histories now have a record available, but have not yet been fully transcribed and the audio may not yet be online. If you would like to listen to an oral history but the audio is not available, please get in touch!

This is not a complete list of all of the items in our collection; more records are being added every day!

Please note: Our exhibit fabricators at Apogee Exhibits will be installing the final phase of exhibits the week of October 26. The museum campus will be open to visitors; however, please be aware that some gallery spaces will be impacted. The team will do their best to cause as little disruption as possible.
